What happens when you delete your account
When you request account deletion, the following data will be permanently removed within 30 days:
- Your account profile — username, email, and profile picture
- All deal listings you posted
- All comments you wrote on deals
- Your vote history and saved deals
- Your points balance, points history, and community rank
- Your notification preferences and device tokens
- Any advertiser campaigns or business dashboard data linked to your account
Once your account is deleted, your username will be released and may be claimed by another user in the future.
How to delete your account in the app
Follow these steps to delete your Kayndeal account from within the app:
- Open the Kayndeal app on your device.
- Tap your Profile avatar in the top-right corner of the home screen.
- Tap the Settings gear icon.
- Scroll down to the Account section and tap Delete Account.
- Read the deletion summary — all data that will be removed is listed clearly.
- Tap I understand, delete my account.
- Enter your password (or verify with biometrics) to confirm your identity.
- Your account is immediately deactivated. All data will be permanently deleted within 30 days. You will receive a confirmation email.
After deletion, you will be logged out immediately. You will receive a confirmation email to your registered address. Your public deal posts will be hidden immediately and fully purged within 30 days.
Request deletion by email
If you cannot access the app, complete the form below to submit a deletion request. We will verify your identity and process the request within 5 business days.
Data retention after deletion
After account deletion, the following limited data may be retained for legal and compliance reasons:
- Aggregate vote counts: Individual votes are deleted, but the aggregate upvote/downvote count on deals from other users reflects your past participation and cannot be selectively removed without deleting every deal.
- Abuse and moderation records: If your account was involved in a content moderation action (e.g., a deal was removed for violating community guidelines), a minimal record may be retained for up to 12 months to prevent platform abuse.
- Transaction records (advertisers): If you ran advertising campaigns through Kayndeal, basic billing records (amount, date, invoice ID) may be retained for up to 7 years for accounting purposes. No personal identifiers are retained beyond what is legally required.
- Anonymized analytics: Statistical data about app usage that cannot be attributed to you is retained indefinitely.
